OCTOBER BOOKWORMS

Hey guys! So I mentioned in a previous post that I’ve got some fun posts lined up this month because its my birthday month. Well here is one of them, I decided to feature book bloggers and bookstagrammer born in October. I’m excited about this so please wish them all a happy birthday and check out their sites. Thank you.

First up is Jenny who blogs at Tecsielity.

Jenny @Tecsielity

Hello Jenny. can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

Hi! I’m Tecsie (or Jenny) from Finland and my birthday is on October 13th so it’s pretty spooky! I’m obviously a fan of books but I also enjoy video games a lot and am currently studying making them, my focus being on the art side of it.

Why did you decide to start a blog/ bookstagram?

I’ve been a member of the Books and Tea Discord server (ran by Lauren from Northern Plunder) for over 2 years and many members on there are bloggers so that got me interested in giving it a try as well and that’s how I ended up with Tecsielity. Bookstagram came a bit later when I started posting more pictures of the books I’m reading and felt like I should have a separate account for that stuff instead of spamming my personal one (and it’s nicer to have all the bookish people in a single feed as well).

What is the weirdest place you have ever read a book?

This is a surprisingly difficult question because I really mostly read in bed! I guess I can say “in the sky” because I’ve read during flights a few times haha. I know it’s not weird but I travel so rarely I say it counts.

What is the weirdest place you have taken a book pic?

Quite a few of my book pictures are taken either on or next to our terrarium because it’s in the room with the best lighting and provides a pretty nice light source by itself too!

Favourite quote?
“Let me be clear: I never intended to raise my brother from his grave, though he may claim otherwise.” From The Bone Witch by Rin Chupeco. Yes, it’s on the cover and yes I love everything about that series.

What is your #bookishwish for your birthday?
My main wish was definitely The Lady’s Guide to Petticoats and Piracy by Mackenzie Lee which my fiance was lovely enough to buy for me. Another one is Kingdom of the Blazing Phoenix by Julie C. Dao since it’s coming out in just a few weeks!

I don’t have a wishlist specifically but anything I haven’t marked “owned-to-read” here are books I don’t have: Jenny’s Goodreads list

Never have you ever _____?
…stayed up all night reading. At least I’m 90% sure I’ve never done that. Sure, I may have read until 5am once or twice but I still always sleep eventually haha.

Me very casually and not at all staged in my natural habitat.

Hello! Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

Hi! I go by okinohio online since I was living in Columbus, Ohio when I had the idea for my Bookstagram. My birthday is October 14th and by the time you’re reading this, I’ll be 20! My hobbies are (obviously) reading, hanging out with my cats and American Football.

Why did you decide to start a bookstagram?

I decided to create an account because I’d been a silent watcher for ages and loved the community! Additionally I don’t have a lot of friends who read so I’d never had people to talk to about books, luckily now I can talk to strangers online though haha!

What is the weirdest place you have ever read a book?

I’m a pretty boring lady so I’d say it’s a tie between any type of transportation (boat, train, car, airplane, while walking even, I’ve done it all aha) and in the shower!

What is the weirdest place you have taken a book pic?

Taking pictures where other people can see me genuinely stresses me out so I haven’t been very adventurous yet. Fingers crossed that’ll change though!

Favourite quote?

It’s “Hic dracones sunt. […] ‘Here be dragons.’ It’s what sailors used to write on maps five hundred years ago when the map ended but the ocean didn’t.” – Beautiful Darkness by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl

What is your #bookishwish for your birthday?

I just updated my Amazon wishlist so I hope my family takes the hint haha! I’ve been trying to read some more nonfiction on topics that interest me so more of them would be great!

Never have you ever _____?

Never have I ever dog-eared the page of a book, it’s by far my biggest bookish pet peeve!
